Jeanne Paquin in paintings

I won’t copy here a wikipedia article about Jeanne Paquin. She was famous, and her fashion house was very popular during la Belle Epoque. If you take a look at Les Modes magazine on Gallica site, you’ll find her models in almost every issue.

This is a nice portrait of Jeanne Paquin with a little dog, which participated in Paris Salon:

Gabrielle Dorziat about Sem and Boldini

sauber-dorziat-femina1914-2 theatre154-15mai1905-vkl-gabrielle dorziat

Gabrielle Dorziat was a French stage and cinema actress. She worked with Lantelme at least in one play (L’Age d’Aimer) and lived a very long life (99 years). I’ve found an article about her (in French), whith a lot of citations about people she knew. She didn’t mention Lantelme, but it’s very interesting to read what for instance she said of two artists, Sem and Boldini:

portraits of Belle Epoque stars (part 2)

When I started to write about Belle Epoque beauties portraits, I didn’t think I could find so many pictures. Unfortunately a lot of paintings (including very good ones)  desappeared, and now we have only b/w photos from magazines and postcards. Few painters – and even Paris Salon stars – are now completely forgotten, and even wiki can’t tell a word about them…

Anaway, here are portraits of actresses and singers, mostly French ones. (Lina Cavalieri was Italian but had a worldwide fame.)
